COURSE PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN:

Participants learn how to develop a PLN – Personal Learning Network and also how to collaborate online in eTwinning and Erasmus + Projects using social media with others european teachers and students.

PREPARATIONS:
One month before the start of the course the participants will be invited to join a social media community (a private, closed community only for participants and trainers/organisers).
The purpose of the pre-course community is to:
- help participants get to know each other before they actually meet with a short description of themselves, their job and organisation, adding also their photo and contact information.- contribute in discussions in the community forum so that the trainers get to know the expectations and the background of the participants.
- facilitate the course participants and trainers to discuss course programme, travel and accommodation and general arrangements of the course.
- support trainers to organise groups for hands on working sessions and group work.
-suggest reading materials and useful links in advance.
- present organisational information (the detailed course schedule and planned social and cultural events)

OBJECTIVES
The course aims to:
- present teachers the potential that the social media tools, curation tools and latest web2.0 tools offer in their daily practice in the classroom especially in their preparation of the activities that facilitate collaborative learning, research, creativity and assessment
-raise awareness and gain teaching skills in the use of social media and curation of new media to promote learning
-explore new ways in which the social media tools, curation tools and latest web2.0 tools and new media can help the learner to develop communication, research and self-expression
-be able to identify the possible obstacles faced when using a variety of tools in the classroom settings in different educational levels

 Best Practices Benchmarking course in Finnish schools. Expert presentations, classroom observations on all school levels, strengthening and sharing competences in collaboration.

Designing, planning and writing sample units of work or lesson plans that deploy the iPad and tablets,
Integrate strategies and iPad and tablet technologies effectively into a curriculum,
Utilise the tablet as a display device in connection with other devices.

Methodology of the course
Information. A general introduction on each of the topics.
Sharing. Participants share experiences and expertise on the topic.
Creating output. Working individually or in groups on a concrete product to be used in the own school.

Validation
The course participants will get a Certificate of active participation.
The competences acquired will be validated by the course organisers on the Europass mobility.

Accommodation and meals
Participants take care of booking their hotel. Euneos will give advices for hotels in different price categories. Participants are free in choice of hotels and restaurants. Accommodation to be paid directly by participants to hotels and restaurants.

Course fee
The courses start on Sunday afternoon and end on Saturday 13.00 (7 days).
Fee for tuition and materials: 490 euro
Administration costs: 160 euro
Total fee: 650 euro (10% discount for schools coming with 5 or more participants to Euneos courses).
