What web 2.0 and social media browser 2.0 do you like more rockmelt or new flock ?

Some times ago I started to use flock and I like very much this web 2.0 and social media browser . In 2 december Flock launched latest release, the new Flock v3.5 browser. New Flock lets you enjoy the benefits of an even faster and better-performing Chromium 7. Flock now integrate with LinkedIn and offer new Flock for the Mac. With LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr all together in your Sidebar, its simple to follow and search friends and family and that much easier to organize your online content, both personally and professionally.

,, Flock continues to provide the most effortless way to get the most out of your social experience. Flock is the only browser that lets the user:

-See all of their social content in one place by simply glancing at the sleek Flock Sidebar, including tweets, Facebook and LinkedIn status updates, RSS feeds, and YouTube and Flickr content. Other browsers require that a user click down several layers for RSS content, Twitter and Facebook updates and do not support LinkedIn, YouTube and Flickr.
-Choose to see everyone in the Sidebar and get their updates fast. With other browsers there is no immediate time-based stream of all friends and content. And users cannot see who has the most recent status updates across services.
- Share content and updates across Facebook, LinkedIn and multiple Twitter accounts with two clicks. With other browsers you have to perform separate operations for each service you want to update.
-Group friends in multiple ways while still having their social media updates visible in the scrolling Sidebar. They can also combine or group their friends according to work, play, school, clubs, interests—any way they choose. Other browsers do not allow users to combine or group their friends across services, or view friends by service, all in the same convenient user interface.
- Utilize Social Search, so users can “See what your friends are saying.” When you enter a question or search query in the address bar, Flock shows you recent pages, favorite sites and feeds, and Google search results, as well as any matches from your friends’ status updates, tweets, and photo/video uploads across all of your social networks.

New Flock from Flockstar on Vimeo.

1 Mounth ago I discover another interesting web 2.0 and social media browser Rockmelt .

Rockmelt a new browser designed around you and how you use the Web.
RockMelt does more than just navigate Web pages. It makes it easy for you to do the things you do every single day on the Web: share and keep up with your friends, stay up-to-date on news and information, and search. And of course, RockMelt is fast, secure, and stable because it’s built on Chromium, the open source project behind Google’s Chrome browser. It’s your browser – re-imagined and built for how you use the Web.
If you can stand a few kinks and bugs, sign up for early access, and we’ll get you an invitation as soon as we can. We’d love to know what you think.
Your World Built into Your Browser
With RockMelt we’ve re-thought the user experience because a browser can and should be about more than simply navigating Web pages.  Today, the browser connects you to your world. Why not build your world right into your browser?
Your friends are important to you, so we built them in. Now you’re able to chat, share that piano-playing-cat video everyone’s going to love, or just see what your friends are up to, regardless of what site you’re on. Your favorite sites are important to you, so we built them in too. Now you can access them from anywhere, without leaving the page you’re on. And RockMelt will tell you when something new happens.
Share or tweet links often? Yeah, us too. No more wading through each site’s goofy share widget or copy-pasting URLs. We built sharing directly into the browser, right next to the URL bar. Like a site or story? Click “Share” and BAM – link shared. You can use it on any site to post to Facebook or tweet about it on Twitter. It’s  just one click away. That easy.
Personalized and Backed by the Cloud
Wherever you go on the Internet, RockMelt makes the Web a personal experience. Because RockMelt is the first browser you log into, it unlocks  your Web experience with your Facebook friends, your feeds, your favorite services, even your bookmarks and preferences. RockMelt is also the first browser to be fully backed by the cloud. This means you can access your personal browsing experience from anywhere, and you get quick updates from the people and sites that are important to you.
Behind the scenes, RockMelt is always working on your behalf. Do you visit the same site 10 times a day, checking for new posts or updates? Well, RockMelt keeps track of all your favorite sites for you, alerting you when a new story comes out, a friend posts new pictures, or a new video is available. And when you open a RockMelt feed, the content is already waiting for you. You can Like, comment, reply, retweet, share - all the actions you’ve come to expect from each service you follow.
Faster Search
Last but not least, RockMelt makes search faster. And better. We got tired of clicking back and forth trying to find the right search result. So we made search as simple as leafing through a magazine. With RockMelt, you can use your keyboard to flip through Google search results and pick the one you want. Super fast. Super cool.
Rock Solid Foundation
Any intro to RockMelt wouldn’t be complete without recognizing all the tremendous work that came before us—and which we’ve built upon. We’re based on Chromium, the open source project behind Google’s Chrome browser, which in turn is based on WebKit, the open source HTML layout engine used by Apple, as well as a host of other projects from Mozilla and others. These projects, which we contribute to, represent the best browser technology out there. RockMelt wouldn’t be possible without these projects, as well as the open APIs, help and support we’ve received from Facebook, Twitter, and others. We’re proud and deeply grateful to be able to build on the shoulders of these giants. Thanks friends!
Get Your RockMelt On!
After two years of work, RockMelt is still a baby. It’s our baby and we’re proud of it, but we’re most excited about what it will grow into. We’ve just scratched the surface of what we want to do. If you’re on Mac or Windows and you don’t mind some kinks and bugs, we hope you’ll sign up for early access and let us know what you think! We are sending out invitations as fast as we can, while making sure our service scales up. We hope you like RockMelt as much as we do. You can follow our blog or our Twitter account or like us on Facebook for updates. Happy browsing!

#edtech20 @web20education - free project in the clouds for teachers around the world was selected finalist in eLearning Awards 2010 . See and join project in the clouds

I was very excited when I saw that my #edtech20 project   was selected runner up in the category ENISA silver award for teaching online safety and citizenship  organized by European Schoolnet and Enisa http://blog.eun.org/eminent/2010/11/elearning_award_ceremony_pione_1.html#more .

The description of the project : ,,  Teaching and learning in XXI century using in a e-Safety way tools and applications web 2.0 and social media in education 2.0,,  is a project launch by me because I was selected this year to work in a TIS – INSAFE Teaching Internet Safety project under European Schoolnet .
The module proposed by me is called ,, How teachers and students can use free web 2.0 and social media in education “ and all the resources will be posted on TeachToday website . All modules where presented in 22nd October 2010 at Safer Internet Forum in Luxembourg organised by the European Schoolnet and European Commission .
Web 2.0 and social media can bring a new dimension and can reform education around the Europe because electronic communication helps teachers and students to learn from each other. These new tehnologies can stimulate discussion, open gateway through knowledge, promote creativity and innovation for effective learning. Teacher and also students should have an entitlement to safe internet access at all times. Pulling Piaget and Papert , the use of participatory media tools in education is typically geared towards, creating a more student centered, adaptive environnement where learners can contribute to the course material, formulate and express their own insights and opinion, construct their own understanding of material by connecting concepts, to personal experience or current events, and learn from one another in collaborative environments . Web 2.0 , social media and other digital and information tehnologies are powerful and interesting tools, which open up new opportunities for everyone and for this reason teachers and students must know how to use it nowadays in a safety mode .

Dear teachers , visitors and eLearning specialists you can join free this free opensource  PLN - PUBLIC LEARNING NETWORK  for this e-Safety project http://teachlearnplayesafetyeducation.wall.fm/blogs/1and also you can join many others groups - See it in the clouds :)

Personal Learning Environments, Network and Knowledge 2010 #PLENK2010 and #edtech20

PLENK2010 will be offered as a connectivist course, therefore offering participants to acquire the experience of developing and working within a learning network while studying the body of relevant research.
In a connectivist course course materials and course content are defined by participants as the course progresses, rather than prior to the course by instructors. Though the course outline defines a set of selected topics, these function as signposts for an iterative process of search, practice and reflection, as described here: http://connect.downes.ca/how.htm
To facilitate this process, course facilitators will maintain the following levels of course support:
  • a course wiki, which may be edited by participants, describing the course outline
  • a daily newsletter, which will aggregate student blogs, Twitter posts, and discussion posts
  • each Sunday readings and resources will be posted to the wiki and (on Monday) to the Daily
  • a Moodle discussion forum, read and responded to by course facilitators
  • Wednesday Elluminate session, usually featuring a relevant guess speaker
  • Friday Elluminate session, as a weekly review with course facilitators
The course may not be limited to this level of support as course participants are encouraged to develop their own course supports and to share those supports with other participants. Examples of such supports in previous courses have included concept maps, Google groups, Second Life sessions, in-person meetings, course-meetups, and more. Facilitators will participate in these additional supports as possible given time and facilities constraints.
In the last five years, the twin concepts of the personal learning environment (PLE) and personal learning network (PLN) have been offered as alternatives to more traditional environments such as the learning management system (LMS) and institutionally-based courses.
During that time, a substantial body of research has been produced by thinkers, technologists and practitioners in the field. Dozens of studies, reviews, conference presentations, concept papers and diagrams are now available.
The purpose of this course will be to clarify and substantiate, from the context of this new research, the concepts of personal learning environments and networks. Course facilitators and participants will analyze the research literature and evaluate it against their own experience with the intent of developing a comprehensive understanding of personal learning environments and networks.
Personal Learning Environments, Networks, and Knowledge is a course sponsored and organized by the Technology Enhanced Knowledge Research Institute (TEKRI) at Athabasca University.

News from  the Twitter blog about a Better and  New Twitter .

Twitter has always been about getting a lot in a little. The constraint of 140 characters drives conciseness and lets you quickly discover and share what's happening. Yet, we've learned something since starting Twitter—life doesn't always fit into 140 characters or less.

Here are some highlights:
  • New design. The site has a cleaner timeline and a rich details pane that instantly adds more impact to individual Tweets while still maintaining the simplicity of the timeline. And, experience infinite scroll -- you no longer have to click “more” to view additional Tweets.
  • Media. Now, it’s easy to see embedded photos and videos directly on Twitter, thanks to partnerships with DailyBooth, deviantART, Etsy, Flickr, Justin.TV, Kickstarter, Kiva, Photozou, Plixi, Twitgoo, TwitPic, TwitVid, USTREAM, Vimeo, yfrog, and YouTube.
  • Related content. When you click a Tweet, the details pane shows additional information related to the author or subject. Depending on the Tweet’s content, you may see: replies, other Tweets by that user, a map of where a geotagged Tweet was sent from, and more.
  • Mini profiles. Click a username to see a mini profile without navigating from the page, which provides quick access to account information, including bio and recent Tweets.
These changes will roll out as a preview over the next several weeks starting with a very small percentage of registered accounts tonight. During the preview, you'll be able to switch back and forth so you have time to grow accustomed to the way things work. Eventually, everyone will have the updated version of Twitter.com. We are incredibly proud of the work the Twitter web team has accomplished. We hope you are too!

HAPPY TWEETING TO ALL
