Now let's see more informations about twitter Amazingly, it's five years ago today that the first tweet was sent and twitter have a Tiny team . Over these years, Twitter has matured and made an impact in the areas of social responsibility, politics, sports, media, and more. The people who use Twitter have made it what it is today, and on our fifth birthday, it's the people that make Twitter special who we are celebrating.
There are now more than 400 full time employees working at Twitter. In the last year alone we have made huge progress towards stability and performance. This work sets us up to continue innovating but it also allows us to build a profitable business on a strong foundation. We are in a position now which allows us to continue serving and delighting everyone who relies on Twitter to connect them to that which is meaningful for another five years and beyond.
Twitter users now send more than 140 million Tweets a day which adds up to a billion Tweets every 8 days—by comparison, it took 3 years, 2 months, and 1 day to reach the first billion Tweets. While it took about 18 months to sign up the first 500,000 accounts, we now see close to 500,000 accounts created every day. All of this momentum and growth often pales in comparison to a single compassionate Tweet by a caring person who wants to help someone in need.
Now let's see some twitter statistics Today, on every measure of growth and engagement, Twitter is growing at a record pace. Here are some numbers:

It is the social way to discover, organize and share the stuff you like on the web.Use Pearltrees to keep the stuff you like on the web at hand, to discover new things in your areas of interest and to share them with your friends.
Pearltrees game play is pretty simple, but its potential is limited solely by your imagination:
Pearl the stuff you like on the Web.Organize your pearls into your own pearltrees.
Discover other users' pearltrees with the search box or the minipearl.
Team up with others to curate the pearltrees you like
Pick pearltrees when you are interested in them and follow their updates
Share pearltrees by embedding them on your blog or on other social services .

3.Facebook is the best way to make a PLN and to collaborate in groups and make facebook pages giving people the power to share and make the world more open and connected. Facebook it is also an incredible learning tool in XII Century Education . Teachers and educators can utilize Facebook for class projects, for enhancing communication and collaboration and for engaging students in a manner that might not be entirely possible in traditional classroom settings. 4.LinkedIn is a tool where you can make a PLN Professional Learning Network and was built for professionals who want to use their existing and future social networks to build a career. LinkedIn is not like MySpace and Facebook. It’s not where teenagers post photos , videos and presentations with their activities
The LinkedIn profile is exactly like a resume, but it holds a lot more information. It includes fields for education, jobs, experience, interests, awards and honors, and personal information. Most people use LinkedIn to “get to someone” , to connect and collaborate in order to make a sale, form a partnership, or get a job.
5.Diigo has become one of the most popular social bookmarking services used by educators and it is a gr8 opportunity for Delicious and I like very much this edtool . Diigo offers good tools for highlighting, annotating, bookmarking, and sharing what you like on the Internet. Diigo is an effective tool for teaching because Diigo's features allow teachers to highlight critical features within text and images and write comments directly on the web pages, to collect and organize series of web pages and web sites into coherent and thematic sets, and to facilitate online conversations within the context of the materials themselves. Diigo also allows teachers to collaborate and share resources among themselves. Diigo is much more than a simple web annotation or social bookmarking service -- it is a new kind of online research and collaborative research tool that integrates tags and folders, highlighting and clipping, sticky notes, and group-based collaboration, enabling a whole new process of online knowledge management, learning, and teaching in the information age.Diigo group #edtech20 With Version 5.0, Diigo moves one step further towards its vision of providing the best cloud-based personal information management (PIM) service that enables users to collect, highlight, access and share a variety of information, on a variety of devices.

Personal Learning Networks consist of the people a learner interacts with and derives knowledge from in a Personal Learning Environment.( systems that help learners take control of and manage their own learning ) . An important part of this concept is the theory of connectivism developed by George Siemens and Stephen Downes. Learners create connections and develop a network that contributes to their professional development and knowledge . The learner does not have to know these people personally or ever meet them in person. The following is an excerpt from Dryden's and Vos' book on learning networks:"For the first time in history, we know now how to store virtually all humanity's most important information and make it available, almost instantly, in almost any form, to almost anyone on earth. We also know how to do that in great new ways so that people can interact with it , and learn from it." . You can read more about PLN here , here , here , here or here
I think all the teachers should build a PLN because in collaboration with other teachers they can share knowledge in groups and using web 2.0 and social media they can bring edreform in XXI Century Education . I am member in many #edtech20 PLNs , but unfortunatelly most of the teachers only use the informations and tools from the networks and don't collaborate with other teachers and for this reason you can read : Collaboration in #edtech20 PLN . Ok now lets see the gr8 #edtech20 tools to build a PLN in XXI Century Education in my next blog post .
