You can discuss your work with them and get useful feedback.

Whether to help you graduate with honors or just win an argument, we created WePapers to help make you smarter, much smarter.

The founders of wePapers realized through their studies for their B.A. degrees that acing school doesn’t have to involve agony. We started wePapers as two university students, with the ambition to share what we’ve learned and learn what we haven’t yet.

We want to make an impact on the way people learn acquire knowledge, and help make the world a little bit cleverer.

Brochure Teaching with #socialmedia in classroom settings ls6 2012 #edtech20

Here is description of my project

Web 2.0 and social media can bring a new dimension and can reform education around the word because electronic communication helps teachers and students to learn from each other. These new technologies can stimulate discussion, open gateway through knowledge, promote creativity and innovation for effective learning. Teacher and also students should have an entitlement to safe internet access at all times.
Pulling Piaget and Papert, the use of participatory media tools in education is typically geared towards, creating a more student centered, adaptive environnement where learners can contribute to the course material, formulate and express their own insights and opinion, construct their own understanding of material by connecting concepts, to personal experience or current events, and learn from one another in collaborative environments. Web 2.0, social media and other digital and information technologies are powerful and interesting tools, which open up new opportunities for everyone and for this reason teachers and students must know how to use it nowadays in a safety mode.

#Curation Restart Education Project . Top 10 #edtech20 tools who will change research this year .

I, Lucian http://xeeme.com/Lucianecurator/ a normal teacher who work a lot to became a Researcher and after a Social Media Curator now launch CRED ,, CURATION RESTART EDUCATION " project , but unfortunatelly still now http://bitly.com/proiectulcred I don't receive founds to make a platform for CRED and to  be implemented  . I decided to begin this project after I was selected leader in European Schoolnet  Smile Project for ,, Using Social Media in Schools - whole school approach - Community of Practice 2 http://bitly.com/collaborationincop2smile . If you think  Curation is Social Media King not only in social web, but also in XXI Century Education and you are a social media addicted like me who want to change online classroom research I invite you to collaborate in this project and if you can please help me to make a open-source website / platform for CRED Project . If you can help me to implement this project please contact me  on facebook https://www.facebook.com/DUMACORNELLUCIAN and twitter https://twitter.com/web20education Last year I discover that Curation is the King of Knowledge in Social Media read more here and the Art of : searching, selecting, sharing/bookmarking , organizing, interaction, communication . I invite you to read and download my chapter proposed in classroom 2.0 book project http://www.scribd.com/doc/100899655/Lucian-Duma-Curation-Restart-Education-Project . Lucian Duma - Curation Restart Education Project

The Internet Curator's role is to seek on the web information related to a specific domain, filter them, select them, organise, share and present them in a unique way. Now you can subscribe to our monthly newsteller http://bitly.com/edtech20newsteller and install free our mobile app http://bitly.com/edtech20mLearningapp

Also I invite you to visit weekly this blog because I will present every week gr8 tools and apps who will offer gateway to knowledge in XXI Century Education . You can read more down about my research and if you want to collaborate to make a curation platform ( website ) for teachers contact me bit.ly/Lucian20 .
The Power of Curation in a presentation download free Zinepal
Curation is Social Media King

I launch this project because Curation is the Social Media King and Next Big Thing still 2011 around the social web and social media curation tools are the gateway through semantic web 3.0 in #education20 and for this reason I invite teachers and researchers worldwide to join free this global project .
Curation is King of Knowledge in Social Media and the Art of : searching, selecting, sharing/bookmarking , tagging, organizing, interaction, communication . Steve Rosenbaum describe in his book Curation : (p 3-4) Curation is about adding value from humans … Curation is very much the core shift in commerce, editorial, and communities that require highly qualified humans. Humans aren’t extra, or special, or enhancements; humans arecurators. They do what no computer can possibly achieve.
(p 12-13) No longer is the algorithm in charge. Human curators have become essential software. What emerges is new human and computer collaboration … The important news of the emergence of a Curation Nation is that humans are very much back in charge. The Internet Curator's role is to seek on the web information related to a specific domain, filter them, select them, organise, share and present them in a unique way.
Now, if you have done any of that work before, you should know that doing so has many benefits, but is also very time consuming. I mean, you can always scour your friends blogs, do a search, visit news sites or other trusted sources available to you. But then, there is the matter of putting them all together, by copying and pasting, editing, among other things.
In essence, you choose a topic, research for the best articles out there, combine them into a post, publish, and share it to the world. That’s curating content!

My favorite tool for presentation and curation is GlogsterEDU

1.Scoop.it is topic-centric, but we can’t forget that it’s first of all a social media The main difference with the others social media is essential: Scoop.it lets users follow topics, not people. Scoop.it brings you content on topics you’ve decided to follow, shared by other people on these topics. People we meet are users who are willing to discuss about the same subjects. What gather people together are their passions! We don’t always share our passions with our friends: especially if they are unusual.
In short, with Scoop.it you share content with people who are likely to find it relevant. Scoop.it enables to share things you would not normally share on other social Medias. Sometimes you find that it’s too risky to share links with your family, your colleagues or old classmates. They will also not necessarily be very interested in your passions. And above all, the information that you will find relevant, will not be lost in the middle of thousand other posts. And if you are a little bit curious (we are all), you will read the content on topics curated by other users who share the same interest, and you will comment their links.

2.Themeefy ia a cool new way to discover, curate, compile and publish knowledge to create your personal Theme magazine or online book . PS if you want a invitation leave a comment with your email and I will invite you to join the MAG . You must follow next steps to make a Themeefy mag . Research web sites and add interesting links directly from the Web. Upload photos, jot down notes and add a personal touch to your magazine. Pull in interesting social content from Twitter and Facebook. Customize the Theme magazine, publish it and share it . My first Online book is Curation Social Media King You can read more here about this new startup curation tool .

3.Chirpstory is an application to help manage your Twitter account and share Tweets in a fun and information fashion. A complete curation experience you won't find anywhere else.Chirpstory automatically loads the latest Tweets from your Twitter stream. You can also load Tweets from a specific user, keyword, or list and Organize favorite Tweets, conversations, and themed hashtags together to create fun and easy-to-read narratives out of the Twitter experience. Simply drag and drop Tweets into a timeline, edit, and then share your "Story" with the world. . Here I made my Chirpstory and in this story I will write my favorite curation edtools in #education20 . http://chirpstory.com/li/1603

4.SymbalooEdu a great resource for teachers. With Symbaloo you can: Gather the best content on the web about 1 topic, and present it on a webmix Share a webmix with other teachers, and students Discover useful webmixes in the Symbaloo Gallery to use in the classroom Share a webmix with parents to provide some insight of the used materials A worthy mention: Symbaloo is free of charge and doesn’t include any annoying ads.

5. Bootlenose Is a smarter way to surf the Stream. It's a new personalization tool that helps the important information find you in social networks like Twitter and Facebook. Use Bottlenose to track your interests, visualize trends, and curate knowledge with your friends. The Sharepocalypse is here to stay. Social networks are popping up left and right, and they're getting noisier. How do you cut through all this chaos? How do you make sense of your streams?
At Bottlenose they we're building a new social assistance application that helps you do just that. It helps navigate the depths of your networks and keep up with your social streams so you can engage more intelligently. But that's just the beginning: Bottlenose helps you hunt for what interests you, alerts you when something deserves your attention, and even helps you share and communicate more productively.

6. Scrible does for research what gmail did for email  and I want to present you new scrible's changing how the world works online by transforming Web-based research but I hope will be free for education Even though the world uses the Internet to research nearly everything for work, school and home (job postings, press releases, Wikipedia articles, medical info, etc.), most folks still use old-school ways of annotating, organizing and sharing online info (printing to mark by hand, copying/pasting into Word, etc.). It's archaic, laborious and a waste of time. We're changing that. We're bringing Web-based research into the Internet Era by empowering people to mark up web pages in the browser and manage and collaborate on them online. And that's just the start...
7. Pearltrees is one of my favorite social media curation tools . Why use Pearltrees ?To cultivate your interests. Pearltrees is a place to organize discover and share everything you like on the web. You can keep at hand the web pages you like and enrich your account with Pearltrees from other members of the community. Who is Pearltrees made for ? Anybody who has ever wanted to keep a webpage (about a favorite movie, for researching travel, for conducting research or just because there are things you've found that you don't want to lose...) to retrieve it one day or to share it with someone. This means a lot of people!

8. BagTheWeb helps users curate Web content. For any topic, you can create a "bag" to collect, publish, and share any content from the Web. Beyond most curation tools' capability, BagTheWeb enables users to build networks of bags. Via bags, users can collect, publish, and share curated Web content in a simple and exciting way. Web content forms content networks, users form social networks, and content and social networks further connect. This way bags can be linked together to provide rich and complete information about any topic. For this reason Bag the Web an evolving Web. For Teachers Collect teaching materials. Create bags for students to study and assign homework.

9. Storify is a curation social media tool to make awesome story and t urn what people post on social media into compelling stories. Collect the best photos, video, tweets and you can also add text and embed the resulting collages of content on your own site or blog

10.Capturetocloud new curation tool in the cloud . Free account include Upload up to 200MB/month Upload unlimited bookmarks Up to 500 web pages, images, PDFs, etc. Unlimited sharing Free Google Docs integration Free Dropbox integration and item linking Features Marketing intelligence gathering, organizing, and sharing Investment Professionals target entity's background, principals' profiles, sector and comparables data, references Real Estate documents, images, web pages and text messages organized

The aPLaNet Project http://aplanet-project.org/

Do you use social networks like Facebook, Twitter & Nings?
Do you use them for personal reasons, to keep in touch with friends and family or for professional reasons?
Do you think social networks such as these can contribute to your own professional development?

These are some of the questions we will be asking hundreds of foreign language educators - and we hope you will be one of them - to find out their attitudes to using Social Networking sites to create and build their PLN, in other words, their Personal Learning Network

During the two years of the aPLaNet project, we will be collaborating with our partner institutions to create support and resources which will help foreign
language teachers in Europe to understand and use social network in order to:
Build and expand their PLN by connecting with educators on Facebook, Twitter & Nings
Continue with their professional development in an autonomous way
Acquire the skills and digital literacies required in order to use these mediums successfully and productively

PLEs and PLNs for Lifelong Learning

Susan Burg

In recent years, there has been a new array of learning management systems (LMS). Tools such as blogs, wikis, screencasting, and social bookmarking have created a significant shift in the educational experience. Personal Learning Environments (PLEs) enable learners to have greater control over their own learning experience. This session will take a look at the current situation by clarifying the concepts of personal learning environments and networks (PLNs). Participants will create their own PLE or PLN and select which Web 2.0 tools they want to support it, as the 5-week session evolves.  We will use a wiki and a Moodle for sharing information and facilitating interactions.

Teaching and Language Learning Through Gamification

Paul Braddock
Graham Stanley
Jeff Kuhn
Teaching and Language Learning through Gamification (TLLG) aims to give educators the opportunity to investigate the potential of gamification of language learning and teacher development. Gamification is the application of gaming concepts to non-game experiences.

We will be covering:
- looking at specific examples and contexts where gamification has been or can be used;
- using games inside and outside of the language classroom;
- engaging in professional development through play.

We also hope the session will lead to the forming of a community of educators interested in language learning and gaming to share experiences and ideas for continued development.
Multiliteracies for Social Networking and Collaborative Learning Environments

Vance Stevens
Kalyan Chattopadhyay

A multiliterate teacher constantly strives to understand the many ways that technology interacts and intertwines with academic and interpersonal life, and actively learns how to gain control over those aspects impacting teaching, social, and professional development. Multiliterate individuals are aware of the pitfalls inherent in technology while striving for empowerment through effective strategies for first discerning and then taking advantage of those aspects of changing technologies most appropriate to their situations. These strategies include identifying, accessing, aggregating, processing, and analyzing a constant influx of information, filtering what is useful, and then enhancing the learning environment with the most appropriate applications. The multiliteracies session achieves these objectives through heuristics for learning and ‘knowing knowledge’ inherent in the paradigm of massive or miniscule open online courses (MOOCs) with documentation of learning demonstrated through development of Me-Portfolios.

MachinEVO is all about producing films of language learning conversations undertaken in Second Life. A film of Second Life (SL) is called a machinima and it is derived from a combination of machine and cinema. Essentially it means recording the screen of the application Second Life. A major advantage of creating films in Second Life is that they are lean productions and these recordings of real live conversations go way beyond creating podcasts, because the avatarians may be located in culturally rich environments such as Berlin of the 20s or 1900 Paris, and they may be able to personify actors who live a life in SL.

In this EVO session we will learn how to create machinimas and the technical skills of film productions as well as post-production until the video has been uploaded onto youtube or other video hosting sites.

Podcasting for the EFL/ESL Classroom

Evelyn Izquierdo
Miguel Mendoza
José Rodríguez
Teadira Pérez

In recent years, podcasting has become one of the most powerful asynchronous Web 2.0 tools in our classrooms.  It’s enormous educational potential allows teachers to use it as a simple resource to support activities within the classroom and to create audio recordings of happenings in their schools.  This workshop aims at providing basic proficiency related to the production and publishing of digital media files (podcasts) and its implementation in the language classroom to enhance communication in speaking and listening skills.

Social Networking: Making it Work for You and Your Students!

Alyssa Ruesch
Marlene Johnshoy
In this session, participants will increase their knowledge of social networking and Web 2.0 applications for both professional development and to encourage student participation and collaboration. Participants will actively collaborate with their course colleagues on a daily basis as we explore, discuss, reflect, and then create activities with different sets of social networking tools each week. This session intends to foster a reflection process on the integration of virtual and physical classrooms through the use of different technological tools and strategies that will give participants some ideas on how to deal with such integration.
